Starting Up A New Project

I am now working on a Winged Heart Tattoo for my mom. I was having so much trouble increasing on the first few rows, but I finally got it. I just stopped pulling the yarn so tight and worked it out. The pattern calls for making two seperate hearts and then sewing them together. I finished one heart last night. I'm planning on making the other heart today.

I'm still knitting up the cat toys! They're addicting, because they're so quick and easy!

I'm planning on knitting my aunt Brenda a scarf next =)

New Project Begun

I just gave up on the dishcloth. It was too complicated for me. I kept messing up entire rows, and it was just very frustrating. So, it's gone...I'll make my mom something else, I'm sure she'll understand. I'll probably knit her a scarf, like I said in the last post I made.

I did start on the Kitschy Kerchief for Cassie. It's going well. I was knitting it too tight though, so I started over because it was becoming impossible to continue knitting, haha. So, I would like to get that done before her birthday, which is June 2nd. Well, I'm not sure when her party is. She's gonna be 10 this year! I got her a bunch of little Lisa Frank stuff, because that's what she's into right now. I'd like to put it all into a gift bag along with the kerchief.

Birthday Afghan

So, I want to knit myself an afghan. But, since I don't have a job and have no sort of income coming in...I have to wait until my birthday. I want to buy nice yarn for it, not cheap stuff. So, when my birthday comes along (November 20th...so far away!) I'm going to get some yarn with birthday money. I think I'm either going to knit the Paneled Lace Afghan that I talked about in this entry. It's pretty, and by the time I'm going to knit it I think I could get the stuff I need to do for it figured out. It doesn't seem too hard. Or I will come up with my own creation. Something original that I would be even more proud of! I just don't know how I would go about doing that...if anyone has any tips, I'd really appreciate them!

I taught myself how to do cables. I love them. They're so pretty and fun to do. So, I'll probably incorporate them into my afghan. *excited*

I cleaned up the apartment today. My dad is painting his room, the bathroom and then my room. I'm not sure which color I want for my room yet. It can't have any red in it, since we live in an apartment and it's harder for them to paint over red after we move out. I'm thinking of a light brown/tan-ish color. I have no clue. I'm looking at the different colors, but I'm not too good at choosing which colors would look right with my furniture/carpet and whatnot. It's so hard! I straightened up my room, but after my dad paints it I'm going to do a total cleaning of it.

I borrowed the book "One Skein" [Ravelry Link] [Amazon Link] from the library this week. It's okay, not too much I want to knit. Glad I borrowed it before I bought it. I do want to make the Candy Wrapper Sachets. I would like my drawers to smell nice! Also, this scarf looks nice. I want to knit my mom a scarf for this winter. I want it to be super pretty, I know she'll wear it no matter what it looks like...but I want it to actually look good. I'm also looking at this scarf. Not sure yet.

Halfway Done!

So, I'm halfway done with the dishcloth I'm making for my mom. Yepp, it's a little late...okay it's pretty late. But, that doesn't really matter. I did buy her a present at the store, so this is just something extra. I hope it turns out okay =\ It involves a lot of counting...and sometimes I lose track and have to count all over again. Especially if my dad is home. He likes to talk, haha.

I'm thinking about knitting a baby blanket for my little second cousin Madison. She is so adorable. I don't know, I'll ask my cousin if he wants me to once I'm done with everything else. I'm working on the dishcloth right now, then after that I'll finish the pet blanket. Then I'm making Cassie the "Kitschy Kerchief" I hope it turns out okay. I picked out the closest color to hot pink I could find, and it actually is called Hot Pink. So, I hope she likes it!

After that I have a couple things in my queue on Ravelry. I'm not what I'll do after that though. I might work on learning some new knitting techniques. It'd be nice to do something other than knits and purls...haha =) I want to learn to do cables, but I'm not sure how that will work out..lol.

Mother's Day present?

I found the pattern for this dishcloth on Ravelry yesterday. It's very cute, and it's just knits and purls, so I can do it. I just keep messing up! It's seven rows of knitting before you get to the purls, and I do that fine, but then once I get to the purls I always mess up. I end up increasing or decreasing somehow, lol. I am determined to do this to give my mom though! It might not be done FOR Mother's Day, but I will give it to her eventually, lol. I know she's not gonna be mad if she gets it the week after Mother's Day or anything. She'll just be happy I made it for her.

First WIP, Bag, Future Project Ideas

So, currently I am working on a blanket for my cat, Billie.

I was doing fine, then I messed up on a row (knit a row instead of purling a row) and so I had to frog it. Then it just looked horrible. So, I frogged it to the point of the change of the color. It looks much better now. A little messed up still, but it's my first project, it won't be perfect.

I also want to show off my knitting bag I got last week. It's in my favorite colors, pink & brown =) I got it at Wal-Mart. Here it is on their website, but in a different color. I didn't see the colors I have on the website. I bought this in store though, in the craft section with the yarn and whatnot. It's very cute! It has a bunch of different pockets and sections. Perfect for carrying around my projects and notions around my apartment. Instead of dragging everything seperately, I can take it all at once. I enjoy knitting in my living room during the day, but at night I prefer to knit in my room.

Last night I printed out a bunch of patterns that I would like to make in the future. One is a pair of Mary Jane slippers Here is where you can find the pattern. They're just very cute and fun. I would totally wear them around my apartment =)
